I am sad to report the loss of another '59 classmate.
WILLIAM E. YATTA
William E. "Bill" Yatta, 77, of Clearfield, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2019 at Mountain Laurel Nursing Home. He was born on Sept. 19, 1941 in LeContes Mills, the son of the late Julius and Olive (Jannot) Yatta.
Bill served in the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.
Bill had worked for Clearfield Machine Shop for 37 years, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of the Clearfield Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and cheering on his favorite teams, Notre Dame and the Steelers. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Missy Knee and Shelly Yatta of Clearfield; a grandson, Joshua Calvello and his fiancee, Alyssia Vargas; a great grandson, Shane Calvello; and a brother, Paul Yatta of Clearfield.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Msgr. Henry Krebs officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Clearfield Fire Department, 108 E. Cherry St., Clearfield, PA 16830; or Clearfield SPCA, 275 21st St., Clearfield, PA 16830.

Willa Mae Keith Scoggins, 79, of Clearfield died on Sunday, Aug.
4, 2019 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center,
Clearfield.
She was born on March 18, 1940 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Ralph and Frances (Lyda) Leggs.
Mrs. Scoggins was employed at the former Clear Haven Nursing Home as a nurses aid. She also was an in-home personal care giver. She loved to cook and enjoyed cuisine. She also liked to tend her vegetable and flower gardens.
Mrs. Scoggins was a member of former St. Johns Baptist Church, Clearfield and more recently attended the Abundant Life Fellowship, Philipsburg.
She is survived by two children, Percy 'Perry' Scoggins III and wife Eliana Scoggins of Bunker Hill, W. Va., and Melissa Toman and husband Peter of Clearfield; eight grandchildren, Morgan, Tamiko, Bjorn, Michael, Matthew, Brooklyn, Macy and Ashley; nine great-grandchildren, Jada, Lauryn, Isabella, Mailyn, Leyla, London, Avry, Zoey, and Delilah; five siblings, Shirley Davenport, Ralph 'Bo' Leggs, Charles Leggs, William Leggs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Percy D. Scoggins Jr. on March 9, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Scoggins; a great-granddaughter, Arianna; a brother, Jonathan Leggs; and a sister, Anna Jones.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dean Krause and Pastor Steve Wymer officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-10 a.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation, 700 Leonard St., Clearfield, PA 16830.

It is with sad heart that I must report the loss of another member of Class of '59. Thanks to Sam Lansberry and Wil Shirey for bringng this to my atttention.
Lois Jean (Wisor) Buck
1941 - 2019

MORRISDALE - Lois Jean Buck, 77, of Morrisdale, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at her residence.
Born July 31, 1941 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Max and Mary (Williams) Wisor.
On Aug. 25, 1962 in Clearfield County, she wed Larry E. Buck who survives at home.
Also surviving are her children, Karen McQuillen, Philipsburg, Susan Kirk and husband Steve, Addison, N.Y., Lori Coble and husband Larry, Philipsburg and Tracy Bumbarger and husband Jim, Woodland; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth McGovern, Clearfield.
Along with her parents, she was preceded by her grandparents, Lex and Irvena Williams and her beloved pets, Pepi Poo and Teddy Bear.
Mrs. Buck was a member of Bigler United Methodist Church where she played the organ for the past 22 years. She was a 1959 graduate of Clearfield High School and was a homemaker. She had been employed at the former Green Stamp Store, JCPenney's, Sears, Bigler Brick Yard and Chardon Rubber and Land Mark, Ohio. She played keyboard and sang with her husband's band, The Heartbreakers, and later, Cheat-N-Hearts for 14 years. She did a lot of volunteer work for various organizations.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale.
A Celebration of Life service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ken Pry officiating.
Her final place of rest will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
