Here is a great Christmas poem written by Yvette (Judi Rolley White's "little sister"). It is very well done and expresses so many good thoughts that I'm posting it even though I haven't talked to Judi/Yvette to get permission!! I could never do something like this!! Very well done, Yvette!!
I found many
items while shopping the mall,
but what I
most wanted was nowhere at all.
I passed by
the games & remote-controlled
cars, cell
phones & ipods, electric guitars.
I searched
for a creche, but I didn't find one.
I asked for
help and was told there are none.
They've
played Christmas music since last Halloween,
while real
live carolers aren't to be seen.
The thing
that I want can't be packaged & sold,
it's the
spirit of Christmas, the spirit of old.
It's family
& friends, and it's doing for others,
it's treating
ALL people like sisters & brothers.
It's finding
the beauty of new fallen snow,
when sun
strikes the surface & snow diamonds glow.
It's looking
at starlight that fills the night skies,
it's momma
cow calling her calf who replies.
Inside my own
self is the best place to start,
my search for
the spirit that lives in my heart.
It's
Christmas, it's Christmas out here on the range.
May peace and
love spread to the world and bring change.
Merry
Christmas!!

I am happy to report that Classmate Joyce Amon Michaels is out of the hospital and doing very well in her recovery therapy at home!! Joyce reported that it all started with a sore throat, followed by a severe headache! That's when she went to the hospital. According to some research I did on line - Joyce did EXACTLY what is recommended for these symptoms. There was also a warning not to delay things by trying to treat this yourself. Things could get serious if you delay treatment. We're happy that Joyce took the right path and is now on her way to a speedy recovery!!
Joyce was also thrilled with her get well cards! I can personally attest to how caring our classmates are when you're ailing!!
Thanks Cousin Judi Rolley White for this update and Joyce Moody Fletcher for the initial notice!!

Our classmate, Joyce Amon Michaels, was admitted to the Clearfield Hospital last Monday and transferred to Altoona on Wednesday. She has been diagnosed as having Viral Meningitis. We understand that she is in isolation.
Please add Joyce to your prayers. We wish her a very speedy recovery!!
You may send her a card at her home address:

Hi Folks,
I'd like to get some pictures up of our recent 55th reunion!! For that matter - send me ANY pictures you have relating to Clearfield, yourself, classmates, old CHS days photos, etc!!

Great News
The 55th CAHS Class of 59 reunion is ON!!! The decision has been made to continue on with the plans for our 55th reunion! If you haven't yet - please let Joyce (814-765-0142) know that you are planning to attend. It is important so that the folks doing all the work for these events can plan accurately. Also - my offer stands - if you need the original forms and/or the hotel list - email me at: orvis@bellatlantic.net and I will email you back with the forms attached.
Here is some information on the schedule.
Friday, October 10th, 2014: A social gathering at the home of Sam and Sandy Lansberry, 958 Egypt Road in Woodland, starting at 4:30 PM. Our hosts are having this event catered by Country Catering of Morrisdale as a "light meal". That means that no one has to bring a casserole or deserts to share!! Again - please let Joyce know if you're coming so the Lansberrys can plan accordingly!
Saturday, October 11th, 2014: The 55th Class Reunion will be held at the Knights of Columbus #409, located at 512 Arnold Avenue in Clearfield. The Hospitality Hour will be 5-6:00 PM with a cash bar. The meal will be buffet style, prepared by the Country Butcher of Woodland, and will be served at 6:00 PM. Dress is casual. Stay after the meal and visit with your classmates. The hall is ours until 11:00 PM!!
I hope to see you there!!!
I can't close this without acknowledging the generosity and graciousness of our hosts, Sam and Sandy Lansberry, for sharing their home for our Friday social gathering. Thank You Sam and Sandy!!
Also - kudos to the reunion committee, especially Joyce Moody Fletcher and Judi Rolley-White, without whom none of this would be happening!!!

55th Class Reunion
Important
The response for our last major planned reunion for October 10-11, 2014 has been less than overwhelming!!! The deadline for sending in your reservation form was September 20th and now a decision has to be made on whether or not to cancel the Saturday planned event at The Knight's of Columbus. A deposit was made to reserve the hall (which would be forfeit), but to continue on with the numbers currently registered would not meet the minimum required for the caterer! Please - if you had planned on attending but hadn't got around to sending in your reservation yet:
Call Joyce Moody Fletcher TODAY on: 814-765-0142, so that Joyce and Judy Rolley-White can make a decision regarding the Saturday Reunion!! Remember - this is the LAST planned reunion for our Class and may be the last chance to see each other!! If Joyce or Judy don't hear from you today (or tomorrow at the latest!! My addition - not the folks who have to make the decision!!), it doesn't look good for keeping the Saturday Reunion).

No matter the decision for Saturday, Sam and Sandy Lansberry have graciously offered to continue with their plans for the Friday Social gathering at their residence, 958 Egypt Road in Woodland.
If you have lost your information and/or reservation form, call Joyce first and let her know you will attend and then email me at: orvis@bellatlantic.net and I will email you back the information and form.
Please attend - we look forward to seeing you again!!!

Mother Nature Speaks
One of our Classmates is trying to sell her home. It looks to me like Mother Nature is trying to prevent that by burying the For Sale sign!! Is Mother Nature trying to send a message???

Message to Class of '59 from Tom O'Day
I received the following message from Tom O'Day (via Judi Rolley White) that he wishes posted on our blog. My apologies to Tom. I received this back in late November, 2013 and thought it had been published, but just found it tonight sitting in a draft file!!
A Note To The
Class From Tom O'Day
A quote from a card I received when my brother Ed passed
away, "And by memories that live in our hearts", brings me to thank
our class for the past five reunions.
I was able to see my brother more in the last 5 years
than in the previous 10 due to our "never ending" class reunions.
These are now "precious moments".
Thanks to you
all, Tom
What a beautiful sentiment!! I could not agree with Tom more! It is often said at our reunion meetings that we don't really need the reunions - let's just keep on having our meetings!! I have personally thoroughly enjoyed every meeting, dinner and reunion that I have been able to get to! Reconnecting to old friends and sharing the old stories and memories that we each have - has been priceless. It always amazes me to find out that some event that was such a big deal to some folks in the past, is barely remembered by others that shared the same event!
