It is with great sadness that I must report the loss of another Classmate! They all hit me hard, but the loss of William Charles (Chuck) Nelson, a personal childhood friend and playmate, is particularly poignant. Chuck lost his battle with cancer on July 6, 2016.
Thanks to Sam Lansberry, Barbara Ondo and Joyce Moody for passing this along to me.
Here is a copy of Chuck's Obituary from the Centre County Times.

I recently received the following email from Eleanor and she has given me permission to publish it on the Blog. She expresses so well how many of us feel about our beloved classmate!

My name is Eleanor Thomas-Hawkins. I am deeply saddened to learn that my mentor, friend and former boss has passed.
I
worked with him during his Bell Atlantic International days in
Arlington, Va. We reconnected several years ago when our friend Charlie
Pacunas passed. I had not spoken to him in recent years but often
spoke of him to fellow former co-workers, family and friends. There was
always some antidote or wise bit of advise from him to pass on for
someone's benefit.
Dennis left a profound
impact on every life he touched. An example is my niece who is now 31
meeting him when she was 7 while visiting me for the summer and hanging
out at work with me. She clearly remembers him and conversations they
had during her visits.
Please pass on to
Rosemary, Tracey and Drew my heartfelt condolences. I will always
remember him for his humor, his love of people and the kindness of his
heart.
