It is with sorrow that I must report the loss of another Classmate. Eugene H. Smith.
Thanks to Joyce Moody and Judi White for letting me know and Linda Smith Dale for this excerpt from his obituary.
Eugene H. Smith, 74, of Frenchville, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College after his heroic battle with cancer.
Eugene was born on August 9, 1940 in Colver, PA, the son of Eugene and Virginia (Aughenbaugh) Smith and was raised by his adoptive parents, James and Frances Rougeux.
He was a member of Riverview Bible Church of Clearfield.
He was employed for many years as an insurance agent with Baltimore Life. He had a passion for his family, camping, fishing and woodworking.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte (Wilson) Smith whom he married May 28,1960, and four children.
Funeral services will be held at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Mark Eveleth officiating. Interment will be at Eden Cemetery, Shawville.

It is with regret that I must report the loss of another classmate, Marvin M. Johnston.

MARVIN M. JOHNSTON, 73, of Spirit Hill Rd., Corry,
PA, died on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at his
residence, after a very brief illness.
He was born on Nov. 12, 1941, in Clearfield, PA., a son of
the late Murray and Dorothy (Luzier)
Johnston. Marvin was raised and educated in Clearfield
and graduated from Clearfield High School in
1959. He then enlisted in the U. S. Army where he
was a Military Police Officer. In 1965, Marv
returned to Clearfield and then joined the
Pennsylvania State Police Academy. After
graduating, he served in Warren briefly before being
statioined in the Corry barracks. Marv retired
from there in 1993. He then began working summers at North Hills Golf Course
on the grounds crew, working there until the
fall of 2013. He was an avid golfer and wood
worker. He enjoyed the outdoors and
hunting.
Marv loved being a "Pop" to his two grand-children.
In addition to his parents, Marv was preceded in death by a
sister, Betty Dixon.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Bonnie M.
(Lanager) Johnston, whom he married on Sept. 3, 1966
in Willow Grove, PA.; a daughter,
Marci Smith of Erie, PA.; a son, Craig
Johnston of Corry, PA.; and a brother, David
Johnston and his wife, Sandy, of Shiloh,
PA. He is also survived by two
grandchildren, Landon and Alexandra Smith, and several
nieces and nephews.
In honoring Marv's wishes, there will be no
services.
