January 31st - Happy Birthday Joyce Moody-Fletcher!!
Join me in wishing a very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to this young lady who has done so much in creating and maintaining data records for the CHS Class of '59!! Not only has she been a mainstay for our records - but she has also served the Golden Bisons as well!! Thanks for all the help you have provided me with information over the years. I wish Joyce Moody-Fletcher (sometimes known as "Jessica") the happiest of days!
PS - if you don't know about the "Jessica" tag - search the blog (go WAY back, and you'll find it!)

I must apologize to Classmate Tom O'Day for not posting this sooner. Tom had hip surgery performed on Monday, January 11th. His wife, Dawn, reports that he is OK post -surgery, in pain (as would be expected) and recovering well. He will attend Rehab after discharge. Please send a card to let Tom know we're thinking of him and wish him a speedy recovery. His mailing address is as follows:
76 Stoneykirk Drive
Pinehurst, NC 28374
One last note! Tom, being Tom, wanted to know if after this surgery and recovery - would he now be known as a really "hip" guy? {:~ )
Classmate Judi Rolley White and hubby Dennis are spending the winter months in Tucson, AZ!! Looking out my window and seeing the 31 inches of snow we just got - I'd have to say that Cuz Judi and Dennis are two very wise people!! Here is Judi and Denny's snail mail address if you would like to reach them.
General Delivery
Dennis and Judith White
Tucson, AZ 85726
Judi warned me that it must be exactly as shown to reach them.
I have been remiss lately in keeping everyone up to date on our Classmate's activities!! I can only plead to an overactive schedule (and to think I keep saying I am retired!) for the last 2 months. As I think most of you know, I am still quite active (read busy) during wrestling season. It seems that you can take a wrestler out of Clearfield - but you can't take wrestling out of a Clearfielder!! I am my local Wrestling Officials Association Chapter Rules Interpreter (and have been for the last 28 years). I also assign Officials (JV and Varsity) for 12 High Schools, 8 Middle Schools and many tournaments.
I also own and operate a very busy locksmith shop and have been President of the Greater Philadelphia Locksmith Association for the past 2 years. I am happy to say that as of January 18, after swearing in the NEW President, I am now the FORMER President of GPLA! Unfortunately, on Febuary 1 I become Chairman of the Board for 2 years.
Did I mention that I am also President of a local Treasure Hunting Club - Southeast Pennsylvania Historical Recovery Group (SPHRG). If you care to - go to www.sphrg.com and you can find 2 YouTube videos of me opening and closing an archaeology hunt at Brandywine, one of General Washington's losses in 1777. The good looking young guy with sunglasses is my son (and best friend) Paul!!
I have a few other endeavors for my "spare" time, but started this as an excuse for not posting timely - and got carried away!! I'll post this and open separate posts for the two items I have.

Here is a copy of LaRee's Obituary as it appears on the frenchfuneras.com site
http://www.frenchfunerals.com/book-of-memories/2327052/Shirey-LaRee/obituary.php
Obituary for LaRee Shirey
In addition to being a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed a 35 year career with APS, serving as executive secretary and bookkeeper at Jefferson, Hoover, and Desert Ridge middle schools. For many years, she also served as bookkeeper for her church, St. Stephens UMC, where her stewardship was inspirational.
LaRee had extraordinary instincts, touching the lives of friends, co-workers and family members in so many positive ways. In her middle school offices, her work ethic and holiday decorations were legendary. She and husband Dave rarely missed a UNM Lobo basketball or football game. And, being an avid fan, she never left until the last play was run.
LaRee was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Vernard, of Woodland, PA. She is survived by childhood sweetheart and husband of 55 Years, Dave; daughter, Jacki Huntsman and husband, Bob; son, Chris Shirey and wife, Liz (“she was an amazing mother-in-law”); grandsons, Christopher and wife, Suzanne; granddaughter, Victoria Everett and husband, Greg; grandson, Jeremy; granddaughter, Emily; and great-grandson, Hunter. All reside in Albuquerque except, Jeremy of Boston, MA. “Grammy” was fiercely devoted to her four grandchildren. She left indelible, loving imprints on all.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016, 2:00 p.m., at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo Blvd NE. Please visit our online guest book for LaRee at www.FrenchFunerals.com.
