Suzy Nagle reports on trip south

During our winter stay in Surfside Beach, SC, Karl and I had several visitors, two of whom were Bev (Caldwell) and Bob Law on Presidents' Weekend. Had a super, but too-short, time with them.

Deciding to postpone as long as possible our return trip to PA, we headed south to FL, and mooched the 1st weekend in March with Sue (Weisshaus) and Terry Speicher. They really entertained us well. (Since the weather that weekend was very non-Floridian, Terry and Karl had their heads together over computers/tech stuff, while Sue and I talked ourselves hoarse.)

Sue suggests that we "mine" material from this website for our 50th class reunion booklet. How say y'all? I notice that Herb Maney's comment refers to us as the C.A.S.H. Class of '59 - that seems to infer that we need to raise some (cash, that is). The local committee that met on this past, snowy St. Patrick's Day assigned that task to Wil Shirey. Remember, Wil - you volunteered! That's it for now - Oh, did y'all get Russ Read's new e-mail address?
PAX.

Two Clearfield landmarks come down

Two Clearfield landmarks have come down - both in the same week. The Wayne Feeds building off Bridge Street and the former Natoli's Restaurant on Bigler Avenue are no more. Word is the Amish are taking the Wayne Feeds building down board-by-board, beam-by-beam and plan to re-erect it, perhaps somewhere in Pennsylvania. If someone has more information on this, please let us know.

Losing these landmarks is all a bit sad, especially for those of us who grew up and played at or near those sites.

Oh well, the Greek, Roman and Byzantine empires didn't last forever - why should Clearfield as we knew it?

Welcome CHS Class of '59 to your new website

Greetings, fellow members of Clearfield Area High School Class of 1959!

This is your website, created especially for our 50th year reunion in 2009.

Come early, come often and share your thoughts, insights and memories of the marvelous and not-so-marvelous moments we shared and all that has happened since.

While we're getting started, please send your thoughts, photos, suggestions, etc. to Dennis Mollura at dmollura1@verizon.net. I will get your information on the site as quickly as possible. Or, if you prefer, post your comments directly in the comments section. (You will need to set up a free Google account.) Regards to all.
