Phone conversation with Mr. Fenchak

I had a marvelous phone conversation today with Mr. Paul Fenchak, our 9th-grade English teacher.

He and his wife live in Lutherville, MD, a suburb of Baltimore.

Now in his Eighties, he's still sharp with a good memory.  We talked about his baseball playing days in and around the Moshannon Valley (I recall he was an excellent pitcher and batter), the old-timer baseball stories that he and I put together when I worked at The Progress, and our days together in the Junior High classroom.

He also had some keen observations about Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno, and why nobody at the University blew the whistle on Sandusky going back to the late Nineties.

It felt good reconnecting with him after more than fifty years.
