It is with regret that I must report the loss of another classmate, Marvin M. Johnston.

Thanks to Linda (Smith) Dale for sending me (via Joyce Moody) Marvin's obituary.

MARVIN M. JOHNSTON, 73, of Spirit Hill Rd., Corry, PA, died on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at his residence, after a very brief illness.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1941, in Clearfield, PA., a son of the late Murray and Dorothy (Luzier) Johnston.  Marvin was raised and educated in Clearfield and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1959.  He then enlisted in the U. S. Army where he was a Military Police Officer.  In 1965, Marv returned to Clearfield and then joined the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.  After graduating, he served in Warren briefly before being statioined in the Corry barracks.  Marv retired from there in 1993.  He then began working summers at North Hills Golf Course on the grounds crew, working there until the fall of 2013.  He was an avid golfer and wood worker.  He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.

Marv loved being a "Pop" to his two grand-children.

In addition to his parents, Marv was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Dixon.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Bonnie M. (Lanager) Johnston, whom he married on Sept. 3, 1966 in Willow Grove, PA.; a daughter, Marci Smith of Erie, PA.; a son, Craig Johnston of Corry, PA.; and a brother, David Johnston and his wife, Sandy, of Shiloh, PA.  He is also survived by two grandchildren, Landon and Alexandra Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

In honoring Marv's wishes, there will be no services.
